Examples of Key Findings About Kratom Alkaloids

5 of 12

Runtime: 4:17

Dr. McCurdy describes the characteristics of some of the compounds isolated from several kratom alkaloids (natural and synthesized). For example, the second-most-interesting kratom alkaloid to researchers is 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-HMG), a metabolite. Questions include how 7-HMG produces its effects, and what other compounds the MS tree produces. Additional examples of laboratory findings are provided. Overdoses from kratom are compared with overdoses from cocaine or opioids.
