Bin He

Bin He, Ph.D., is the Distinguished McKnight University Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Medtronic-Bakken Endowed Chair for Engineering and Medicine, and director of the Institute for Engineering in Medicine and the Center for Neuroengineering, all at the University of Minnesota. Dr. He received his Ph.D. in bioelectrical engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology and his postdoctoral training at Harvard University-Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Research Interests

Dr. He's research interests cover a broad spectrum in biomedical engineering—primarily neuroengineering, biomedical imaging, multimodal neural imaging, and brain-computer interface. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, and is sole editor of the textbook Neuroengineering as well as editor-in-chief of the journal IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering. The funders of Dr. He’s research include the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Office of Naval Research of the U.S. Department of the Navy.
