The R90 program is a 3-year, full-time, immersive clinical research-training program for conventionally trained researchers based at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon. The R90 program includes mentored clinical research experience, didactic research training, coursework at NUNM tailored to trainee interests, salary commensurate with the fellow’s years of experience, and a generous research stipend for original research in complementary and integrative health. The R90 program aims to produce the next generation of scientists from conventional research backgrounds who will advance complementary and integrative health research through their expertise in clinical and translational research methods. Complementary and integrative health includes clinical disciplines like naturopathic medicine and acupuncture, but also areas of study such as health behavior change, nutrition research, mind-body physiology, herbal and homeopathic medicine, as well as research that investigates combining disciplines and creating new models of practice. To learn more about the R90 program, including how to apply, see: https://sites.uw.edu/bridg90/.
