National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health

In this video, Lanay Mudd, Ph.D., discusses the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) KL2 Administrative Supplement Program, which will support the clinician-scientist pathway, particularly for individuals with clinical doctoral degrees in complementary and integrative health practices, such as naturopathic medicine, chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, and other practices.

These KL2 training programs are funded by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) and are located at Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program hubs. The KL2 programs provide research training experiences to prepare a cohort of scholars to become independent investigators.

Dr. Mudd is a program director and the training officer at NCCIH, located at the National Institutes of Health. As the training officer for NCCIH, she oversees the Center’s training and career development portfolio and supports training and career development opportunities to increase the diversity and number of well-trained scientists conducting rigorous, cutting-edge research on complementary and integrative health practices.
