Job Opening at NCCIH for a Behavioral Science Researcher
May 31, 2018
Curious about a career as a program director at NCCIH? Are you interested in interacting with researchers around the country, providing scientific leadership and guidance, as well as impacting the direction of scientific research?
We are seeking an experienced researcher in behavioral science or clinical research to work as a program director in the Division of Extramural Research’s Clinical Research Branch, which oversees NCCIH-supported clinical trials of natural products and mind and body interventions.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at one of the largest funding agencies for complementary and integrative health research, shape the portfolio of NCCIH grants in behavioral science and clinical research, and support the NIH mission to extend healthy lives and reduce illness and disability.
We are interested in applicants with experience conducting or overseeing human subjects research such as clinical trials, human mechanistic studies, and/or cohort or case-control studies. In addition, the applicant’s scientific expertise should include, though not be limited to, one or more of the following areas: mind and body interventions (e.g., meditation, mindfulness techniques, massage, tai chi, spinal manipulation); neuroimaging techniques; natural products clinical trials; behavioral interventions; and/or neuroscience.
This short video, including an interview with NCCIH program director Lanay Mudd, Ph.D., provides a glimpse of what a career in health science administration at NIH involves:
