Event Description

Please join us for a preapplication technical assistance webinar on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 2–3 p.m. ET regarding the notice of funding opportunity RFA-AT-24-006: Resource Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research (U24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The webinar will provide potential grant applicants with an overview and address questions from the scientific community on applications for a Resource Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research. The webinar will feature highlights of application considerations from program staff at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) and three other partnering National Institutes of Health Institutes and Centers. It will also include a presentation on review requirements from NCCIH’s Office of Scientific Review.

This resource center will be supported through a cooperative agreement funding mechanism (U24) and will address challenges and barriers to conducting research on cannabis and its constituents and enable researchers to successfully generate more rigorous scientific evidence across a variety of research domains in both basic and clinical research. The center is expected to be a focal point for researchers entering the cannabis research space and to support the development and establishment of research tools and studies that will improve upon and eventually change the landscape of cannabis research.

The webinar is provided for potential applicants who want to learn details about this exciting and unique funding opportunity that will facilitate research advances through synergistic interactions among experts in relevant commercial, basic science, clinical, and regulatory areas both within the center itself and in collaboration with the extramural community.
