Liver Injury from Herbal and Dietary Supplements Workshop
Date: May 4, 2015 - 08:00 a.m. ET to May 5, 2015 5:00 p.m. ET
Lister Hill Auditorium, NIH Campus Bethesda Maryland
Event Description
Herbal and Dietary Supplements are used commonly in the United States, and instances of liver injury in persons taking them, although rare, are being increasingly reported. This workshop is meant to bring together various federal, academic, and industry experts on HDS, knowledgeable in biochemical analysis, clinical hepatology, epidemiology, and surveillance of adverse events. The major aim of the workshop is to develop a research agenda for better elucidation of the frequency, epidemiology, clinical features, outcomes, consequences, mechanisms, and means of treatment or prevention of liver injury due to HDS. Travel awards will be offered on a competitive basis to those who submit abstracts by April 3, 2015. Information on registration, travel awards, and guidelines for abstract submission can be found at http://www.niddk.nih.gov/news/events-calendar/HDS.
